FC Amkar - Russia

FC Amkar is the biggest football club in the city of Perm – a region located in the Volga district – that in the last years reached the top venue of the Russian Superleague.
FC Amkar is a relatively young club, founded in 1994, but it already reached the Russian Cup final in 2008 and played the UEFA preliminary round the following year.

The Zvesda Stadium, with a capacity of 20,000 seats, was one of the first facility installing an artificial turf surface for official games of the Russian SuperLeague (year 2005).

The decision

After few years on playing on a traditional synthetic turf with black sbr granules, the club understood the importance of giving to the players a better playing surface, more professional and with performance identical to natural grass pitches in perfect conditions.

The Zvezda Stadium needed something suitable for the level of Russian Supeleague and top players such as Samuel Eto’o from FC Anzhi, Krasic from Lokomotiv Moscow, Arshavin and Hulk from Zenit, etc..
After experiencing several games on the Max S with Geo in the U21 training facilities of CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow the difference with the other options available was too big to miss, and the decision to choose Limonta Sport system was easy to make.

Official Matches and Training

The shift from the traditional artificial grass system used until last season to the new football turf has been greatly appreciated by the players and the staff of the club who high-lightened the advantages of the new surface compared to the old one with traditional SBR granule:

Better foot stability

More natural sensations during the movement and change of direction

Ball speed and ball roll identical to the ones registered on natural grass

Feeling not to play on “artificial” makes the players focusing entirely on the game
