The milestones on a journey of unceasing growth

Founded in 1972, Limonta Sport began manufacturing synthetic turf pitches.

1980: Limonta’s Research and Development Department launches its first collaborations with the leading federations in the world of sport

1994: Establishment of Limonta Sport Iberica

1998: Limonta Sport completes the first installation of a 3G pitch: safety and performance are greatly improved

2000: First installation of Mixto hybrid turf

2002: First Installation of the Professional product developed by Limonta Sport

2004: First tests and installations with the Geo infill

2004: Establishment of Limonta Sport Asia

2007: Installation of the first FIFA Recommended 2 Star pitch with Geo infill and primary with PU coating

2007: Limonta Sport becomes a Certified Manufacturer of its own artificial turf for the International Hockey Federation

2009: Limonta Sport becomes FIFA Preferred Producers for football turf, and is still the only Italian company that holds this title

2011: World Rugby has chosen Limonta Sport as its Preferred Producer for rugby pitches

2013: Passed the milestone of 5000 installations worldwide

2014: The innovative Econext product has been officially certified as compliant with the UNI 10667-16 standard

2015: Establishment of Limonta Sport South America in Paraguay

2021: The hybrid grass range is expanded with the introduction of VerdeMix stitched technology

Limonta Sport inherited the values of reliability, quality and attention to customer needs from the Limonta Group.

Since its foundation it has undertaken an evolving path of growth, which, on one hand, aimed to differentiate and expand its services and expertise in an ever increasing range of sports and, on the other hand, to develop the best solutions, according to the needs and together with sector Federations and professional clubs.

Today, the aim of research activities is to introduce systems that are increasingly safe, high-performing, durable and with high involvement in innovation.
