MIXTO hybrid grass for the Poljud Stadium in Split!

July, 13th 2021 – The match between Hajduk Split and Hsk Zrinjski Mostar ended 1:3 last night.

The match inaugurated the new hybrid grass surface of the Poliud stadium. The decision was made to replace the 100% natural turf with a hybrid turf, as already chosen by top clubs, in order to combine all the qualities of a traditional pitch with those of synthetic grass.

Once the old natural surface had been removed, work began on preparing the sub-base and then the installation of big rolls of Mixto, all in just three nights. The Lay and Play laying technology allows the turf to be grown in a greenhouse and laid on site in just a few days.

Mixto, which is patented in Italy, consists of a reticulated base on which less than 3% of artificial grass is sewn, between which natural grass grows spontaneously. This structure makes the hybrid grass 3 times stronger than normal grass and more resistant to the stress of the game, although the perception of the athlete is almost identical to that of a completely natural ground.

And so, after 7 days of rest, the pitch was in perfect shape last night!
